The batik storage basket is distinguished by its unique weave, in which seagrass is not simply woven side by side in strands, but in a striking and large checkered pattern. This creative weaving technique gives the basket not only exceptional stability, but also a sculptural and interesting appearance.
Its angular shape makes it particularly versatile: for example, it's ideal for shelves or niches, where it can serve as a stylish storage solution for smaller items, documents, or toys. Thanks to the variety of three different sizes, you're sure to find the right storage solution for you.

Material: Seagrass
Our baskets are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
What basket weavers commonly refer to as "seagrass" is actually not an aquatic plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in tropical Asia. The leaves of these plants, often cultivated by humans, are cut off, sliced into strips, dried, and then processed by hand.

Factory:
This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Because all steps are done by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
