Jemuh can serve as an elegant laundry basket in your bathroom or as storage for cushions and blankets in your living room. It is a sturdy, dimensionally stable rattan basket – the material is so robust that even heavy firewood can be stored and transported in it.

The rattan used is untreated. The result is a pleasantly light color that blends harmoniously into any living environment. Jemuh is available in two sizes.

Main material: Rattan

Our baskets are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell wonderful and feel natural.

Rattan palms typically grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they compete for space with other plants and deplete the soil of nutrients. The stems, which grow rapidly without chemical additives, need to be regularly harvested and, after drying, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and readily available material.

Production location:

This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories from which we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced craftspeople. No harmful chemicals are used in production. Because all work steps are carried out by hand, greenhouse gas emissions are minimal. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
