Kawah is a longer version of our Kalima lampshade. This makes it particularly suitable for rooms with high ceilings or for filling the space above tables. For Kawah, raffia is carefully hand-woven into rattan fibers. The fringe, in particular, is a striking detail that creates a warm, tropical atmosphere in your home.
The light shines through this lampshade in a slightly muted way, so that as the sole light source it creates a particularly cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
The lampshade has a ring for attaching the lamp socket. Kawah is supplied without any further accessories, but suitable light bulbs and cables can be found in any hardware store.

Main material: Bast
Our lampshades are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
Bast (Corypha utan) occurs naturally in the steppe and forest regions of Southeast Asia. The plant renews its leaves approximately every two years, shedding the old ones, which are then collected, dried in the sun for several days to weeks, and processed into basketry depending on the desired degree of browning. Its relative rarity and the more complex processing make this material somewhat more expensive compared to other plant fibers. While it is hardly known in Europe, the material has proven its worth among the local population in Southeast Asia in the form of all kinds of everyday objects and enjoys great popularity due to its pleasantly soft yet robust nature.
Other materials: Metal frame
