The Kolaka stool is crafted from thick rattan fibers, which require considerable time and skill to process, and is shaped into a curved, timeless form with three legs. This ensures stability on any surface and allows it to complement any living environment.

Made from natural rattan, this stool is incredibly lightweight, making it easy to move and use in different rooms. Despite the high-quality material, the seat, crafted from thin, intricately woven rattan fibers, is very robust and extremely durable, even with frequent use.

Main material: Rattan

Our stools are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large quantities in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they compete for space with other plants and deplete the soil of nutrients. The stems, which regenerate quickly without chemical additives, must be regularly cut and, after drying, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and readily available material.

This stool is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Because all steps are done by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
