Alam is a rattan lampshade shaped like a fish trap. The result of decades of craftsmanship, it enhances your home with its natural look and clean lines. The inside of the lampshade is also lined with rattan ribs, giving it a 3D effect. This creates a captivating geometric shadow pattern that casts light onto the wall.

The rattan lamp is available in two sizes, so there's a suitable one for every room. A sturdy metal frame ensures that it retains its perfectly round shape over the long term.

Alam is supplied without light bulbs and cables. However, these are available in the desired color and length at any hardware store.

Main material: Rattan

Our lampshades are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large quantities in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they compete for space with other plants and deplete the soil of nutrients. The stems, which regenerate quickly without chemical additives, must be regularly cut and, after drying, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and readily available material.

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Because all steps are done by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
