The handcrafted Mulia lampshade is made of flat rattan fibers carefully woven into a sturdy metal frame. Its sculptural, tiered design gives Mulia an exceptional presence. The tiers are intentionally arranged so that they are not perfectly flat or straight, giving the lampshade an organic and natural look that distinguishes it from our other rattan lampshades.

For Mulia, the rattan is simply steamed and rolled without any further processing. This allows it to retain its natural light color and fibrous texture. From the very first touch, you can feel the quality of a genuine natural product, crafted with dedication and skill. The material is very lightweight, which makes installing Mulia considerably easier compared to lampshades made of heavy metal or solid wood.

The rattan lamp is supplied without a cable or light bulb. However, you can easily find these in any hardware store. This gives you the freedom to adapt Mulia to your own style and needs.

Main material: Rattan

Rattan palms tend to grow in large quantities in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they compete for space with other plants and deplete the soil of nutrients. The stems, which regenerate quickly without chemical additives, must be regularly cut and, after drying, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and readily available material.

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we prioritize fair wages and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Because all steps are done by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
